Case Study
Bradford Soap Works, West Warwick, RI.
CRL's services were engaged by BSW for the purpose of facilitating the development of a private label house brand of Bath and Body products "from concept to consumer." Today Bradford ranks as the world's largest independent producer of specialty bar soaps and a leading supplier of a broad range of proprietary soap bases.
It was obvious to Senior Management that they had no knowledge of formulating and filling liquid products, no supply chain of bottle, tube, label, or corrugated vendors, no marketing or package design team. They had no experience in warehousing, distributing and assembling products for sale to the retail trade or knowledge of the vendor compliance concerns that each trade partner demands. Nor did they have a national sales force to sell to the major retailers in the Food, Mass and Drug trade.
Seven months from the day that Bob Krentzman met with the VP of New Product Development of BSW, Sean Rosser, the Dendera line of Bath and Body products was introduced at a leading industry trade show (ECRM). As a matter of fact, to insure that the product would be at the Dallas Hotel where the Show was being held, Bob arranged for a truck rental and a person from BSW to pick up the last item being filled at the contract filler and drive from Massachusetts to Dallas, Texas!
